Director: Juan Pablo Santiagos

Founder of Santiagos Producciones in 1997, after a long career as an alpine and mountain bike racer where he raced as an alpine skier from the age of 4 until 22. Santiagos was a six time Chilean National Alpine Champion. Santiagos also raced in the ‘88 Calgary Olympic games, placing 21st in the slalom. He was the ’89 World Alpine Champion held at Vail, CO, USA. In ‘90 he started racing mountain bikes, where he entered the UCI World Cup circuit, placing 12th at the ’92 World Championships in Bromont Canada, then 4th at the ’94 Mt. Sainte Anne Quebec, Canada’s downhill elite event.

Since 1997, Santiagos has been involved in organizing various sporting events such as the Chilean National Snowboard Championships, Mountain Bike Championships and Windsurfing National Championships. He is also involved in the adventure racing series.

Race Manager : Pablo Sosa

“Sosa” (his nickname) is the brainchild behind the TransAndes Challenge.

Sosa, (How we call him) is the person in charge of the planification and coordination of  the race of Trans Andes Challenge. Where the race will go through, and probably during some stages, you will hate him.

He was a swimmer when a kid, 10 seasons playing rugby and after that an dedicated triathlete for 7 years; racing at the famous Pucón triathlon in 1989/90 and 1991 go to live to Patagonia and discover the mountain and your passion for the race organization. Sosa make a lot of races of MTB and the first adventure races in Argentina for the 90´. Work for different brands making sport marketing, events and promotion. He is involved in the organization and planification of many events like the Eco Peugeot Salomon Traverse/Argentina 2003 (Race Director) Salomon X-Series /Argentina & Chile 2004 (Race Director), 5to AXN Desafio de los Volcanes /Argentina-Chile 2005 (Technical Staff), NOKIA Snowboard World Cup-Valle Nevado /Chile 2002/4

Registration & Public Relations: Daniel Püschel

Daniel has worked for years in differents aspects related to cycling and adventure races. He loves hiking and the wildlife. Also he practice many sports like tennis, running and water skiing.

He will be responsable to keep informed about all the news of Transandes Challenge, to answer all your queries, to coordinate all your registration process, and also to introduce Transandes trough the world.

With him you can count if you have any doubt or question, he will be prepared to bring you any answer you need or to solve any problem you may have with the time a patience necessary for that daniel@transandeschallenge.com

Web Master & Desing: Álvaro Meriggio

Alvaro will be the person in charge of all the back office, design and construction of the TransAndeschallenge web page, and as the tittle says, the web master of the web page, where we hope you could obtain all the information you need for doing your registration and then participate.

At the same time, Alvaro will be in every stage of the race, with results, pictures, i videos, and everything that is hapening during the TranAndeschallenge 2009. This means that you will be always informed of the steps and news of the event.

And the most important for him, he enjoys family life, together with his wife and his little baby. He also likes to hear rock, riding the bike and playing football with his friends.
