One of the most valued aspects by the Transandes Challenge participants is the quality of
the places where they campsites are located. Here we detail the places where we are going
to stay, so you can have an idea of what to expects:

Panguipulli: Is a small town of 12,000 inhabitants, belongs to Valdivia's province and Los Rios region. The city is located on the western shore of Panguipulli's Lake. This city is known for its active trade, for his beautiful church and his picturesque streets decorated with roses. In this city be are going to start the race and we are going to have the first campsite of Transandes Challenge. This campsite will be located only a few blocks from downtown where you'll have access to a variety of restaurants, supermarkets and shops in general.
The race will start on city dowtown, so the citizens will be able to see you during the first section of the race.

Huilo Huilo Reserve: The Huilo Huilo Reserve is a private initiative of nature conservation
which reaches 250,000 acres of native forest. This reserve has been declared a biosphere
reserve by UNESCO in 2007. In this place there are several attractions like the Mosho-
Choshuenco volcano, the Huilo Huilo waterfall, Pirihueico's Lake, and the Huemul
conservation center. The Huemul is a mammal of the deer family which is in danger of
extinction, this animal is a symbol of Chile.
In this reserve have been develop two hotels of incredible design, the Montaña Mágica
Hotel, simulating an erupting volcano, and BaoBab Hotel, which seeks to blend into the
dense forest that surrounds it. Both hotels provide all types of commodities and the
better service. The campsite will be located in an area called "Canopy Lodge", just 500

meters from the hotels. Also on this site you'll find a brewery, a cafe and a dining room
where we are going to bring to the participants all the meals.
Without doubts, Huilo Huilo Reserve is a unique place that everyone will enjoy.

Termas de Coñaripe: This thermal complex is located 15 kilometers from Coñaripe's town, close to the shore of Pellaifa´s Lake. It has 6 differents thermal pools, a large restaurant, hotel and tourist cabins. The services offered by this spa have the best standards, providing all the commodities to establish on it a pleasant camp. It is also a strategic location for Transandes Challenge development, because it is located at an intermediate point between the Reserve Huilo Huilo and Pucón..

Pucón: Pucon's city is the tourist capital of southern Chile, belongs to Cautín province and Araucanía Region. This city has around 22,000 inhabitants, but in summer this number increases 4 times with the arrival of the tourists. Its main attraction is the beach at Villarrica's lake, but also highlights the majestic Villarrica volcano, national parks, and an inexhaustible supply of activities related to adventure sports, water sports, recreation centers, a wide gastronomic offer, and the casino. This variety of activities is not unmatched by any other city in Chile.

The final camp, where will be the finish lines, will be located at the Pucón's city Eco Park. This place is located 4 kilometers from downtown, has tennis courts, soccer field, complete dressing rooms, and an ample space to make the camp. Here will be the final barbecue and awards ceremony, however, in the city's downtown, we are going to do a protocolar arrival. On night will be the final party where everyone can celebrate having completed Transandes Challenge 2012.
